In a group chat, SNL roasted the Trump admin's signal fail.
Saturday Night Live took aim at the Trump administration's latest digital blunder, accidentally adding The Atlantic's Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg to a group chat meant for war planning. SNL treated Signalgate this weekend, making it the social media's favorite punchline. The Secretary of Defense accidentally added a trio of high school girls to the secret thread in The Cold Open. Sarah Sherman, Ego Nwodim, and Mikey Madison are trying to convince Hegseth that they are not the recipients of updates on deep-cover FBI agents and plans to steal the pyramids of Giza. Over four chaotic minutes, the girls beg to be removed as the officials keep spilling national secrets like it's a Discord server for teenage conspiracy theorists. They still let Goldberg in.

SNL went off the rails with a Jury Duty sketch.
When the writers have too many absurd character ideas and decide to throw them all in one room, SNL's "Jury Duty" sketch feels like that. The result is a chaotic courtroom of misfits all trying to dodge civic responsibility, much to the displeasure of Nwodim's increasingly unamused judge. The entire cast rotates through as over-the-top jury candidates, including a male feminist, a bisexual who is pro-mass incarceration, and a prank-calling radio. Madison plays a juror who claims fame as one of the people that Caitlyn hit with her car. That excuse doesn't fly. There is no real point to the sketch. The cast is having a good time and it is dumb.

America's extravagant privilege may be starting to be overwhelmed by US debt.
Moody's added to the growing list of US debt warnings and appeared to inch closer to a downgrade in a recent report that sounded the alarm on the worsening fiscal situation. America'sAAA grade increasingly relies on the unique and central roles of the dollar and Treasury bond market in global finance, but soaring debt and deficits are offsetting those advantages. America has long enjoyed the "exorbitant privilege" of the dollar's status as the global reserve currency, but worsening debt and deficits could soon outweigh that advantage. On Tuesday, Moody's added to the growing list of US debt warnings. The agency said that America's triple-A grade increasingly relies on "extraordinary economic strength and the unique and central roles of the dollar and Treasury bond market in global finance." Higher interest rates have made debt more expensive. Rate hikes from the Federal Reserve to rein in inflation as well as massive deficits under President Joe Biden are part of the reason for that. It said that President Donald Trump's policies could make the situation worse....

SNL entered the chat.
Three teenage girls chatted over the phone on Saturday Night Live. Did you see what Jessica wore today? She is a pick-me girl. They teased each other, "Hey, it takes one to know one!" They did what girls do. SNL entered the Signalgate chat. It wasn't just Jeffrey Goldberg, The Atlantic's editor in chief, who was added to the now-infamous text chain known as the "Houthi PC small group." Pete Hegseth, played by Andrew Dismukes, was the texter in this scenario....

There are real perils to mileage tax.
Fees for public roads should be based on how much drivers use them. California assesses such fees through a tax on gasoline that only approximates the wear and tear vehicles impose on the road system. People can drive as many miles as they choose after buying gas. Even though transportation officials and lawmakers have not always used the money efficiently, the system has worked well. California is having a problem. 25% of new car purchases are electric vehicles and an increasing portion are hybrid that combine gasoline with battery systems. The state fears it won't have enough money to maintain our infrastructure as it phases out new gas-powered car sales. The current system is unfair....

While some outlets offer crucial counter-narratives and insights, others pose a significant risk of misinformation, perpetuating controlled opposition or serving as wolves in sheep's clothing, intent on misleading their audience with agendas designed to confuse rather than inform.

People are shocked by what is happening in the court system. I was elected for a number of reasons, but the main one was Law and Order, which is removing a vast Criminal Network of individuals who came into our Country through the Open Borders Policy! These people are dangerous and violent and harm the people of our country. The voters said so in record numbers. Nobody would be removed, the President wouldn't be allowed to do his job, and people's lives would be devastated if it was up to the Radical Left Judges. Make America great again!
